Quick Take: Postman now directly supports external JavaScript (npm/JSR) packages in scripting, custom Spectral rule support in Spec Hub for tailored API governance, an enhanced Slack integration for better workflow alignment, and new MCP support to standardize AI agent connections. Yes Sir!
Streamlined Collaboration & Smarter AI Agent Building
Postman is introducing Model Context Protocol (MCP) support (among a plethora of other updates!). Building AI agents often involves complex integration setups, vendor lock-in, and custom code that becomes a maintenance nightmare. MCP standardizes how AI applications connect to tools, and Postman is bringing this directly into its familiar workflow.
Developers can now generate complete MCP servers using AI Tool Builder by choosing from Postman’s network of thousands of APIs, discover existing MCP servers, and inspect/test individual tools within these servers before integration.
This allows for model-agnostic connections that work across platforms like Claude, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible systems, breaking down AI compatibility barriers.

Noteworthy updates
Postman now directly supports external npm and JSR packages. This means you can import public libraries for encryption, formatting, data parsing, and more directly into your pre-request, post-response, and other scripting workflows across all request types (HTTP, gRPC, GraphQL) without leaving Postman.
Flows Actions now allows any workflow to be transformed into an automated, cloud-deployed process. With one-click automation from the Flows canvas, you can deploy workflows to Postman’s cloud and trigger executions via API endpoints from any application on any schedule, with automatic scaling.
The New Request tab now features autocomplete that suggests relevant APIs (public and internal) as you type, complete with methods, params, auth, and body structures. Enhanced Postbot for testing provides intelligent code completions, generates tests from comments, and creates tests directly from response fields.
You can now get Slack notifications for public workspace updates (tracking changes from internal teams and external API publishers) and even request access directly in a Slack message if you hit a Postman resource you don’t have permission for. Rich changelog details in notifications with direct links to Postman aim to keep everyone in the loop without breaking their flow.
TLDR
Postman’s latest updates are a dev’s best friend: import external JS packages directly (no more copy-paste!), set custom API governance rules with Spectral in Spec Hub, get better Slack integration for smoother teamwork, and build AI agents easier with new MCP support. Plus, automate workflows with cloud-deployed Flows Actions and enjoy a slicker core experience.
